A lot of customers are surprised (not to mention annoyed) when they have a projector lamp die on them and they need to find a replacement projector bulb. Most people don’t realise at the time of purchasing their projector, that the OEM manufacturers in fact class projector lamps as consumables which should be anticipated to need to be changed over the life of a projector.
Most projector lamps are manufactured with an expected life of 2000 hours.Clearly 2000 hours of projector bulb life is not going to last that long if you leave the projector on 24/7.We are often shocked when school teachers and office workers confess that their projectors are left on stand-by overnight which is terrible for the life of a projector bulb.
As long as customers conserve their replacement projector lamps, the life achieved from them will be excellent.More often than not, customers who feel short-changed by the amount of time a projector lamp has lasted have often been mis-using the equipment and not turning the projector model off overnight or when it is not being used. This is something to bear in mind for schools, some of whom can have over 100 projectors running on the school site at any on time.
